Masonry Excellence in Downtown Saratoga: AJS Delivers on 18 Division Street

As part of the ongoing revitalization of downtown Saratoga Springs, NY, AJS Masonry, Inc. was contracted to deliver the entire masonry scope for the newly constructed 18 Division Street mixed-use building. Located in the heart of the city, this high-profile commercial/residential project demanded a careful balance of craftsmanship, scheduling, and logistics — and AJS delivered on all fronts

The scope of work included brick veneer, architectural CMU (concrete masonry units), and decorative cast stone, forming the visually striking and structurally sound exterior of the multi-story building. These materials were chosen to complement Saratoga’s historic architecture while meeting the performance standards of modern commercial construction.

A key challenge of this job was the cramped urban jobsite, which required careful coordination of materials, equipment, and personnel in limited space — all while maintaining pedestrian safety and minimizing disruption in a busy downtown corridor.

To keep the project on track, AJS’s experienced union crews worked through the winter months, installing masonry within heated enclosures built and maintained on site. Despite the added workload and weather-related complications, AJS delivered the project on schedule without compromising quality.

The 18 Division Street project highlights AJS Masonry’s capacity to manage complex masonry scopes in high-traffic, limited-access job sites, and further reinforces its reputation as a trusted contractor for mixed-use, commercial, and urban infill construction projects throughout Saratoga Springs and the Capital Region.
