Precision Poured: AJS Masonry Delivers Super Flat Slab & Tilt-Up Walls at Old Dominion Distribution Center

The construction of the Old Dominion Freight Line Distribution Center in Glenville, NY required high-performance concrete work to support heavy freight operations and exacting standards. That’s why AJS Masonry, Inc. was brought in to handle both the super flat slab on grade and the cast-in-place tilt-up exterior wall system.

The project called for a 55,000-square-foot slab on grade built to strict FF/FL (Floor Flatness and Levelness) tolerances — essential for the smooth operation of material handling equipment and heavy freight movement. AJS deployed its laser screed technology to meet these demanding specifications, delivering a floor with exceptional precision, durability, and finish quality.

In addition to the slab work, AJS formed, poured, and finished all cast-on-site tilt-up concrete wall panels that comprise the building’s exterior envelope. This system provided both speed and strength while allowing for an efficient build timeline without sacrificing structural integrity.

The combination of super flat slab execution and tilt-up construction reflects AJS Masonry’s capabilities in large-scale commercial and industrial concrete projects throughout Glenville, Schenectady County, and the greater Capital Region.

With over 40 years of experience and a fleet of specialized equipment, AJS Masonry continues to be a trusted partner for distribution centers, logistics hubs, and warehouse facilities across upstate New York — delivering concrete solutions that are built to perform under pressure.
